This specification covers the requirements for three types of thinner to be used in reducing aircraft coatings.

 

 

 THINNER, AIRCRAFT COATING
 

 

TY 3 - Acrylic & Alkyd Thinner
TY 2 -Thinner, Epoxy
TY 1 - Polyurethane Thinner
The thinner covered by this specification is intended for use in reducing aircraft coatings to the required viscosity.
MIL-T-81772 is a Type I Polyurethane thinner.
